Stop hitting yourself! Stop hitting yourself!
One analyst now contents that instead of AOL bringing up Time Warner, it's now dragging it down.
AOL's stock price: $23.12.

Where do you want to drive today?
Recent reports highlight the fact that car websites (who knew there were 170?) really haven't done much to learn about their customers. The report breaks the types of customers into three main categories and then suggests how to reach each of them. I tend to agree. A few years ago I was preparing to buy a new car, I went to GM BuyPower. I figured GM sells more different cars than anyone else, so maybe they could help me in my search. No such luck. Before I could browse cars, I had to tell them if I wanted a Chevrolet or a Pontiac or a Buick, etc. I didn't know. I just wanted to see all the convertibles offered by GM or all the mid-sized sedans. But that wasn't possible. Nor was there any way to communicate with GM. I later bought a Dodge. Not really because of their website or anything.

Buy my book! Buy my book!
Yes, a "Critic" reference. Anyhow, I'm trying to sell a Warner Bros. Pictures coffee table book on eBay. It's pretty cool... over 300 pages, lots of pictures, lots of information. Very classy. You should buy it.

Don't recycle your old computers!
If you're recycling your old computer, it's most likely going to China, India or Pakistan where people earning less than $1.50 a day are stripping your computer of its precious metals. How are they doing that? Smashing dangerous pieces, burning plastic components and pouring dangerous acid onto the pieces. They're destroying their environment, their drinking water, being exposed to dangerous chemicals and generating piles of garbage. Basically they're still being dumped, just in another country.

Interesting Read...
I found this on the internet. I haven't yet read the entire thing, but it's kind of interesting... it's the masters thesis of a teacher in Alaska. "Computers and the Internet: Listening to Girl's Voices"

There are no heroes anymore
Was Greenspan complicit in causing the recession we're now in? Maybe yes, maybe no.

Weight-Loss
Backwards progress... gained a few. But it'll go away again. I will have positive progress. Last night: dinner was savory chicken, peas in a pod and carrots. cheat: two squares of chocolate that my wife gave me. pre-bedtime: 3 slices of turkey lunchmeat. This morning: pre-breakfast: half an apple. Breakfast: cheerios. Mid-morning: pineapple. Lunch: salad and half-bagel.
