Microsoft doesn't suck today

( After a (foolish) kid named Mike Rowe launches his business with the website, Microsoft sues. It gets dumber. And then in the end, the kid gets an XBox, some free Microsoft classes and a trip to Redmond, Wash. They've decided to make a friend to this guy instead of pushing him off to become a Linux punk or an Apple junkie. Me, I suspect that while he's in Redmond, they'll throw him in the Microsoft dungeon (located beneath one of the parking structures) for having crossed them. When that happens, you can say you read it here first.

Bye, Captain Kangaroo

( I barely remember Captain Kangaroo, but I know that I used to watch his show without fail in my much younger days. With him and Fred Rogers gone, we're left with Barney (bad), Bear (good), Teleblubbies (bad) and Michael Jackson (way bad). How sad.

Unions Suck

Ha ha ha. 13 people were arrested for striking on the private property of the Vons corporate offices. Stupid unions. Unions suck. They protect marginal and underperforming workers and strong-arm businesses. Glad to see the grocery stores standing up to them.

Bad boys, bad boys, whacha gonna do...?

(from Lori, yahoonews) Some enterprising cops rigged their decoy car to play the "Cops" theme when they send the remote command to kill the engine.

Awesome80s and Awesome80sII are both playing Frank Zappa's "Valley Girl" ugh

Tennesee to Disabled Guy: SCREW YOU! (Tennessee sucks)

From This guy had to appear in court for a charge of reckless driving. But the court had no ramp or elevator and he was disabled, so he had to pull himself up the stairs while courthouse employees looked on, laughing. He was supposed to appear a second time, but refused, citing the humiliation. So they arrested him. I have no idea if this was a nice guy or a jerk who menaced small children with his car. But give the man some frigging dignity. So he sues the state, citing ADA. They lose twice but keep appealing and now it's before the Supreme Court. How much of a stinking backwater cesspool dwelling hick of a state is Tennesee that no one with the power to do anything thought to say "Hey, this is obviously not right and we ought to put in a ramp or some stairs or build a new courthouse building or something." But no... (at least according to this article, which was an interview in Newsweek with a disabled disabilities-advocate), they just kept appealing because they claim that states rights trump federal legislation, which the ADA is. Write to the Governor of Tennessee and tell him how stupid his state looks...

Loopholes Suck

Subaru modifies Outback to make a truck ( it's so stupid that with half of the "cars" sold today being SUV's that they still enjoy less stringent rules that are destroying the environment.

Ludicrous, greedy bastards (the music industry sucks)

Some copy-protected CD's contain two-sets of each CD... one set in the traditional CD audio format, and a second set in another format, like Windows Media Player. This allows you to listen to the CD you've purchased in a lot more of the CD players you own. But now record companies are suggesting that because there's two copies of each song, they should get paid twice as much. Amazing.

Consumer Debt Tops 2 Trillion

Interesting thoughts... how can we be the richest nation in the world when all of our countrymen are up to their neck in debt? And that the coveted customer is no longer the one that pays off his bills each month but the one that will always have debt... because they'll always be paying fees and interest. And that the average household paid $1,700 in finance charges last year. Makes me want to go home and see how much we've paid.
