Day 18: 161.2
We've had to kick it into high gear on the weekends getting the yard ready for the annual assessments. It's a great way to burn a lot of calories.

Day 16: 161.8
Oops, I went over. That will happen from time to time. That's ok. At least I'm tracking so I'm more aware and disciplined overall in what I'm doing. It's a bit of a cruel trick that as you lose weight, your daily allowance drops *AND* the Wii Fit awards you with less calories for the same amount of time.

Day 14: 162.3
Big breakfast. Can't figure out for the life of me what it was. That's one of the downsides of using the generic count. It was obviously early enough in the day that I hadn't had my oatmeal yet. Which makes me suspect that I brought in goodies that Lori baked and ate some of them.

Day 13: 163.4
Forgot to take a photo of the Lose-It! screen today. Fortunately, I've also been taking photos of the Wii Fit Plus screen each day. (Except in a few upcoming days where I forgot to do either.)

500 in 300: Failure
I didn't make it. I really failed in winter. I'd need to run more than 5 miles a day to meet my deadline and that's not going to happen. Life's too busy for me to run every day and I'm still re-building at this stage. I am running a couple of times a week and I'll get to 500, but not in the remaining 42 time.
So sad. I feel like I should be more disappointed in myself. But then I didn't really try hard.

Day 11: 164.0
(ignore the past weeks on this one - I wasn't being consistent so those aren't realistic)
First full week back in. Making good progress.
I know progress will slow. I know there will be plateaus. I've been there, I've done that. I'm ready for them, so I will not let them trip me up.

Day 10: 164.2
Yesterday's small group with pizza and cake for dinner could have been doom, but it didn't turn out that way. Of course, then today, a Men's Breakfast at church with lots of food. I tried to economize and didn't go back for seconds.

Day 9: 163.6
Woo hoo! 5 pounds. I'll flirt with this number a little bit, but no fear, I'm still on the way down. Huge dinner could mean a higher number tomorrow.

Day 8: 164.0
The only way this is even possible is that my wife supports my weight loss goal. She prepares healthier meals for all of us and she counts the calories so that I can enter them into Lose It! The turning point came when she inherited an old iPhone and all of my apps transferred over to it and she realized she ought to check it out.

Day 7: 164.7
A week back on it and feelin' good. I can do this. I will do this. I was just realizing that when I first moved to Seattle in 2006, I dropped 30 pounds that year, just to get to right about here. So dropping 20 more will mean I will weigh 50 pounds less than I did then. Hard to believe that's what's considered healthy. Well, I will definitely keep it off this time.

Day 6: 165.6
Day six. Closing in on a week. Sadly, I am just now posting days 2-6. The good news is, though, that I have now lost 3.3 pounds and I behaved myself even though I didn't keep this blog updated.

Day 4: 166.4
A slight increase, but we're still doing ok. *LOTS* of exercise today - Wii Fit, working in the yard, and running.

Day 3: 165.6
I was impressed to see a drop. Fridays are typically small group and it's hard to do portion-control. But we didn't have small group last night, so I made pancakes and Lori made bacon and I lost track of how many pancakes I ate. But I estimated what I hoped was a really high number. And considering I was down this morning, rock, rock on.

Day 2: 166.2
On the phone today with my mom and dad and my dad reminded me about how it's not healthy to continually gain and lose weight and I said I was well aware of that. But then my mom suggested maybe my dad was talking to himself and he agreed that maybe he was.
I'm not going to blank out the erroneous stuff in the exercise, that's time I don't have. But the calorie counts will be accurate (as reported) regardless of how I had to finesse the system to get the numbers to match what the Wii or RunKeeper say.

Day 1: 168.9
Alright... latest round. When I stick to it, it's proven to work. When I don't, I gain the weight. I have no willpower and co-workers who like to bring doughnuts into the office. So, with the help of my Wii Fit, RunKeeper, Lose It! and you, my audience of accountability, let's see how quickly I can lose 24 pounds. (This time, the plan is to keep it off.)
Did two hours of Wii Fit Free Step today and ran 2.34 miles - I will sleep well tonight and the iPhone app from Simply Noise (I use the "brown noise," oscillating.) will help with that. The numbers I enter into Lose It! are the calories as reported by the Wii and RunKeeper, so I erased the times that were listed on the screenshot because they're way off. Also, I had a salad from Trader Joe's for lunch but when I scanned the barcode, the calorie count was way off so I just put in a generic placeholder to track the calories.
I should post a picture of me soon so we can watch the transformation.

Offline is teh broke
Our HOA is embarrassing me. Not only do they spell it "esthetics" but their newsletter is riddled with spelling errors. (Interesting... a few years ago dictionary.com referred to it as an antiquated spelling of "aesthetics" but now calls it a "U.S." spelling.)
And now they are apparently just copying stuff off their own website without proofreading it.

Lawyer Link
What on earth? Who thought this was a good idea? I can only think this was done intentionally to prevent people from getting to this link in great numbers.
Hey CenturyLink - ever heard of bit.ly?

How I Watch TV
I can't just watch TV. I'm often frustrated that things don't move quickly enough or entertain me enough. So often I'm doing Free Step on Nintendo Wii Fit Plus while using my laptop or iPad or both. I can plow through Google Reader quicker with two screens or clear out a bunch of email. The music stand was a birthday gift from my Amazon Wish List and it's pretty convenient.
Oh, and what I'm watching on TV is something we've DVR'd, sometimes months ago. Have fun with that, Neilsen.
