How Not to Make a Sale (or a Friend)

This is a real exchange.  Sadly, I actually encounter this all the time.

Get a contact request at an odd time - in and of itself, not necessarily a bad thing, the internet is global - but a really ambiguous description that screams "I'm not going to tell you I'm in sales or bizdev.

Immediately a nice greeting.  Again, not a bad thing, usually I greet first, thanking people for the connection and wishing them well.  But, a greeting that talks, in generic, about future discussions.

They wait a few hours, and then, "hey, let me talk about me."

Nope, not relevant.

Do you even use a product like ours?

Did you even do any research before you contacted me?  I'm not doing your work for you.

Q&A: Addressbook

November 24 - Who have you recently deleted from your contacts/address book?

2014 - Lots of people with first or last names starting with "B" - and lots of World Vision people.

2015 - I haven't, but I'm overdue. - entered Dec. 26

2016 - People who voted for Voldemort

2017 - People from World Vision - entered Nov. 26

2018 - I can't think of anyone - my list is small but stable.
